Ryan Chase Lee's Art Corner

I just have to brag on my talented boyfriend for a second. As many people know he is a huge comic book fan and he is also loves records and good ole music. He brilliantly combined his love of both in this unique series of Super Hero Albums.

This first painting is a combination of the late David Bowie's album Aladdin Sane & DC Comics Barry Allen or better known as The Flash. I absolutely love his attention to detail in these paintings, like the flashes subtle costume and symbol and the names!

This next painting is a personal favorite! He combined to things very dear to my heart... Wonder Woman and Madonna (Studio Album). LOVE!!!!

You might have to do a double take with this last one... He combined Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon with Superman's colors and shield. It's the Dark Side of Krypton

Chase has many more works in progress to add to this series and I will post them on my site as he completes them.  He never seizes to amaze me with his talent and creativity and I personally cant wait to see what he does next!

13th Gate Life

For the past 4 years, I have worked for Midnight Productions at The 13th Gate, voted #1 Haunted House in the country. I have been a makeup artist, scenic artist and I have also acted in in Necropolis13 as the character I created, baby eating Mombie. (I know, absolutely disgusting and morbid, right?! Which is exactly why I won scariest actress's that year! Soooo I guess you could say I was the scariest actress in the country   ...I mean technically.... HaHaHa!!!

I also acted as a line entertainer with the ever talented Drew Cothern and Lloyd Pitts as "Jill" the bubbly clown sister to "Jack"(Lloyd Pitts) who made "Cozmo" (Drew Cothern), the escape mental patient, believe that us clowns were figments of his imagination.

Over all I would say we had a wonderful trip. We even went to the Salvador Dali museam where Chase managed to find a Superman reference that I don't know if anyone else on Earth has ever noticed.

The painting was painted the same year that Action Comics #1 came out, 1938. Coincidence? I doubt it. One of the many reasons I love that man. Haha. Anyway, be sure to check out our Podcast, Comic Book Variant and subscribe to us on YouTube and soon to be on iTunes.

Cheers!

New in the Studio...

Chase Lee in our art studio

Chase Lee in our art studio

This week has already been a busy one, which is a very good thing in my studio. I love the fast moving creativity flowing in every corner. Yesterday I built new shelves, started 4 paintings of my new Monster Mash series, and Chase and I shot a video for Comic Book Variant's YouTube channel. Today I will continue making monster art and finish getting ready for this Makeup filled Halloween season that is fast approaching. Eeeeeeek!! I am very excited! This is absolutely the best time of year. I am going to try to squeeze in a fun Makeup today if I can find a willing and available model for the afternoon. Until then, I'll be steadily buzzing around the studio, getting stuff done and enjoying this beautiful weather! Ahhhhh fall.
